LATEST UPDATE:
The Walk Resumes!

As of June 2008, Jim Shaner had discontinued The Walk Across America indefinitely due to health reasons(see Aug. and Sept.'08 Newsletters), but has recently resumed the ministry. Here's the latest from one of Jim's recent e-mails:

May 05/07/09

"Dear prayer warriors,

From May 10 to May 14, the One Nation Under God -Walk Across America will resume in Adams County, Ohio as I continue to prayer walk across our nation. Because of my declining health due to head trauma, my walk stopped last May and I later became disable. My short term memory and the ability to concentrate is not the best and I have mild dyslexia. At the present time, I can walk, talk and pray which is an improvement over last year. My strength is better than last May still needs to improve. I am not sure if I can walk for 6 to 8 hours a day for 5 days straight. I need to walk in God's strength not my own. Keep Nadine and me in your prayers.

God bless, Jim Shaner"

More Highlights:

March 2009 - Consequences - The Coatesville Fires : (1/25/09) "On Thursday I received an email request for prayer walkers. The small steel mill city of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, in which I attend church, needs prayer. Since 2002 I have prayer walked through many cities, towns and villages in eastern United States, but at the present time my heart is in Coatesville. On Friday evening 11 men and women prayed at the eastern and western gates of the cities. The reason for the prayer is that almost 30 arsons have occurred in Coatesville from December 2008 to the present. One death has occurred and several arrests have been made but the still arsons continued. I was one the intercessors at the western gate to the city. When I pray, I expect God to answer. This morning my faith was deeply shaken. Once again arson occurred and one fireman was injured while a whole row of houses was destroyed. At least 12 families are now homeless in this latest tragedy. Coatesville is now a war zone and families sleep in fear at night wearing their clothes. Please pray that the arsonist or arsonists are found and that the peace of Jesus settles over Coatesville..."

May 2009 - Memorial Day in Washington D.C.
